Just a few more weeks!

I had my monthly checkup with my doctor on Monday.  I was 16 weeks, 3 days.  I heard the baby's heartbeat again.  It was 140 bpm.  Doctor said it was perfect!  Thank God!

We are counting down the days for the BIG appointment.  We can't wait to find out if this precious little one will be a boy or girl.  What do you think?  Our appointment is on February 3rd at 4:00.

Not sure I will get much done at school that day.  I think we may do some fun math activities related to the baby on that day.  Make a graph of the students prediction, etc.  The kids will be so excited!  They were so happy when I told them about the baby before our holiday break.  We played hangman with the sentence being, MRS. SMITH IS HAVING A BABY!  They all clapped and got so excited.  I think they will be excited to find out the gender.

UT Game

Even though the game didn't go our way (poor Colt!), we still had a wonderful time hosting some family over to enjoy the game.  Greg, Babette, and Tiffany came over, as well as, Nathan and Holly. Brad and April and the kids also came over to enjoy the game!  We had so much fun!  Hayden enjoyed looking at my "Find Bevo" book. Since we have a ton of Longhorn stuff to go in our game room (once Eric gets his pool table), we decided to use it to help us decorate the house in preparation for the game.  I also got to use all my Longhorn serving dishes.  It was really fun!  It would have been wonderful to have won the championship, but, at least, we had a great night!

Hudson even jumped up in April's lap for some loving.  She was so excited! Look at that smile!

Snow and Ice!

This is a little late, but here are some pictures from the Snow and Ice around Christmas.  Hudson really did not like going out in the snow.  But, it made a cute picture! Ha!

Holidays

We had a wonderful holiday season!  We were busy, busy, busy!  We had a wonderful celebration with our immediate families and our extended families.  It is always great to see everyone!

Eric and I will spend New Year's Eve at his parents house.  If Eric is feeling well enough (he has been sick for about 2 weeks now), we have a wedding to attend on New Year's Day.  Eric is not doing well with the cold weather though, so we will have to see (the wedding is outside).

Baby got several presents for Christmas---several bibs, outfits, and a cool Santa book.

I am 14 weeks and few days.  Things still seem to be going good.  I have my next doctor's appointment on January 11.  Then, I have to wait until February 3rd for ultrasound to determine gender.  I can't wait!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

BABY SMITH ON THE WAY!

Well, I can officially announce the big news in the Smith household!  Baby Smith is due to join the world on June 25, 2010!  Our wedding anniversary is June 24, so an anniversary baby would be so fun!

I am 12 weeks and 3 days today!  We will find out the gender on February 3!  Can't wait!

Great start to a great year!

I can already tell this is going to be a fantastic year!  My students are so sweet this year.  They are way more innocent than my students last year.  I already have formed some great relationships with them.  I have tried something new this year.  I decided to have a morning meeting with both classes this year to get an opportunity to have the kids share their lives with me.  They and I are loving it.  I also write them a little message and one day I ran out of time....they were so upset.  Funny...you wouldn't think it would affect fifth graders so much.  I really love having them share stuff with me.  I feel like I know them better already!  Teachers in younger grades have always done this but fifth grade typically doesn't but I am so glad that I am invest the time each morning to do this.  I think it will help us all too when my teaching partner is out for maternity leave.

Back to School

Tomorrow is the first day back to school.  I got to meet my kids on Friday night.  I have 28 on my list, only 22 showed up.  I am hoping that will carry over to tomorrow too.  28 5th graders is TOO much!  They are too big!

Hope everyone has a great first day!
