Baylee's 1st birthday party

We celebrated Baylee's first birthday with all our closet family and friends.  It was so much fun.  It was a ladybug theme.  Baylee was a ladybug for Halloween (at Addy's request) and Eric calls her BayleeBug, so I figured it was perfect.  I had so much fun planning the party.  We had games for the kids to play.  I made a ladybug ball throw.  My dad made a ladybug beanbag toss game for me.  But, the most favorite game of all was the small swimming pool that I filled with balls to create a ball pit.  The little ones played inside it and the older kids threw the balls at each other.  It was a total of $8....I could have just done that and everyone would have had just as much fun.

I can't believe that Baylee is one year old.  She is growing so fast.  She is trying to walk.  She will take about 3 steps before she gets worried and sits down.  If she is really motivated and distracted, she will take a few more steps.  It won't be long before she is running all over our house!

You can check out the pictures of her party at our picture website.

May 2011

Yes, I am really behind.  But, I figure I better get caught up before Baylee's birthday party.  I will have lots of pictures!

May was a wonderful month.  Baylee got her first haircut.  We celebrated my first Mother's Day.  We got to see my cousin Tiffany graduate from High School.  Baylee went swimming for the first time.
Enjoy the pictures!

Baylee did really well when getting her hair cut.  She didn't want to sit still but she never cried!

We celebrated Mother's Day by visiting the Japanese Gardens in Fort Worth.  It was really fun.

BUSY APRIL!!!!

We have had a very busy month, especially with me returning to work!  Here are some pics from the exciting month!

On April 16th, we found out that Brad and April are expecting a new baby GIRL!!!  They hosted a very fun gender reveal party.  We watched the kids cut into a cake and we saw the pink inside!! Hayden was a little overwhelmed by the commotion and got upset.  But, he will love his baby sister!

Happy Mommy and Daddy
and sweet baby girl!

This past weekend we had our annual WITTEFEST at my Memaw and Papaw's house in Granbury.  It is an incredible family reunion with all my Papaw's family.  It is so fun to hang out with this extended family.  There is always a horseshoe tournament for the adults.  This year there was a HUGE easter egg hunt for the kids and my cousin and his wife rented a bounce house! Big hit with the kids!  Great time.  I didn't get many good pictures because I was too busy chasing Baylee (story of my life right now!!!). :)

We also hosted EASTER at our house.  We had Eric parents, my parents, and Brad's family here! It was awesome.  We had a wonderful lunch and then the kids had an egg hunt.  It was really a great time.

Baylee had a fun Easter.  She got a ball toy from the Easter bunny, along with some books, clothes, and a duck.
Here is a video of Baylee with the ball toy!

The Cast is Gone!!! :)

Today, we went back to see Dr. Kennedy.  He did an xray again on Baylee's leg.  He said she was completely healed and it was time to take the cast off!! HALLELUJAH! Praise God!  I was so happy!  The nurse came in with the saw!  SCARY!  Well, it was until she showed with her fingers that the blade won't cut her!  Then, it was time to get started!  Baylee did so good! Didn't even cry.  Just wanted to watch what was going on!

Before we left for the Doctor.  I am so excited!!!

Waiting to see doctor with Daddy!

Waiting with Mommy!

About to get started!

 Here we go!

Dr. Kennedy with Baylee!  Dr. Kennedy is the best!!!

The video below is from Thursday evening.  This is how Baylee played with the cast on!

So, it is any surprise that she did this as soon as we laid her on the ground at home!  The video of her when we first laid her down is too long.  (Check it out on our shutterfly page though. thesmithlifeinpictures.shutterfly.com)

Blue Eyed B Club

I could really get used to being a stay at home mom!  We were able to have a very fun lunch playdate.  My friends from high school, Jennifer Canales Cook and Elizabeth Luton Fuller brought their little guys over to play.  Jennifer has little Boston, who is 6 months old!  Elizabeth has little Brady, who is also 9 months old. (Elizabeth has a three year old Henry also, but he was at school!).   All the little ones have beautiful blue eyes and have B names.  So, Jennifer deemed them the "blue eyed B club".  I love it!!

I wish I had gotten so pictures of the kiddos playing, but I didn't.  Next time for sure!  Next time Baylee won't have the cast either!!! YEA!

Brady knows what to do with a camera.  Smiled every single time!  Precious!

Baylee is used to being the cutest thing in the room.  She had to share the spotlight with these guys!  I am not sure if she took it so well.  It looks like she is trying to pull Brady back. haha

Last couple weeks

We have enjoyed taking Baylee for walks over the last few weeks.  She enjoys getting out of the house and likes riding in her wagon.

Last weekend, we spent the whole weekend up at Eric's practice laying down new floors.  We laid down the vinyl flooring that looks like wood floors.  It looks so much better.  The doctor there before Eric probably hadn't improved the practice EVER.  The floors were so old and dingy.

2 more weeks!

We had Baylee's second followup appointment with Dr. Kennedy on Friday.  He was really excited to see how well she was healing.  It was actually pretty funny how excited he was considering he sees new bone created all the time!  He said no matter how many times he sees it he still gets so excited! ha!  He is a really awesome doctor!!!

Dr. Kennedy feels pretty certain that she will get it off in 2 weeks.  So, March 25th should be the day!!! That was the day we had scheduled for her 9 month appointment, but we will be getting the cast off instead!! Way more exciting then a 9 month appointment!! :)

The cast is beginning to stink and get nasty so I am definitely ready for these 2 weeks to be over.  PLUS, Baylee is acting as if it is not there.  She has figured out how to roll over both directions in her cast.  She has even tried to start moving herself.  Obviously, she can't crawl, but she is trying to pull herself from place to place.  This gives me hope that she won't go backwards too much.  I am hoping she will be crawling again in no time!!!

Here is a videos of her rolling and trying to crawl.

Making the most of my time at home

Just a few photos from the first few days home with my baby girl!
